National Cadet Corps

The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of Santhanam Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School started in 2023 provides a platform to the young students to get fully developed into global leaders who will embrace all the opportunities of 21 st Century to further their country’s interests and safety with self-discipline and patriotism.

With young and enthusiastic cadets, the unit has made significant strides in shaping the minds and characters of young individuals.

Honorary Capt. Thiyagarajan. S conducts regular parade and drill sessions for the first- and second-year cadets   twice a week. He is assisted by ANO designate Mr. Nirmal Kumar and Mrs. Jenifer who were NCC cadets in their junior and senior years.

Our cadets regularly attend the camps and trekking expeditions conducted by 2 Battalion NCC units, headquartered at Trichy. Some of the camps attended by our students include Annual Training Camp (ATC), All India Girls Trekking Camp, (EBSB) ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ and Thal Sainik Camp (TSC).

  • Trekking camp at Nilagiris- 2 Cadets
  • EBSB CAMP AT TAMBARAM – 1 Cadet
  • ATC CAMP AT ANNA UNIVERSITY – 10 Cadets
  • TSC SELECTION CAMP AT DINDIGUL -3 Cadets
