Building the Nation, Inspiring the Future! Our Grade XI students of Santhanam Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School (CBSE) had the privilege of attending an inspiring session on “Civil Engineering: Building the Nation” by Mr. Kalyanakrishnan Venkataraman, Professional Engineer (PE), California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), State of California.

The session highlighted how civil engineering is the backbone of a nation’s development, shaping essential infrastructure such as roads, highways, freeways, bridges, and modern transportation systems. Students also gained valuable insights into California’s world-class infrastructure and the significant role engineers play in creating safe, sustainable, and future-ready communities.The interactive session encouraged our young learners to explore civil engineering as a rewarding career that contributes to nation-building and societal progress.”Every great nation is built on strong foundations—and every strong foundation begins with inspired minds.”

A Journey into the Heart of the Forest! 

Our young learners stepped into a magical world of imagination during the “Friends from the Forest” Storytelling Session by Mr. Kalyanakrishnan Venkataraman. Through the inspiring tale of the tiger and its forest friends, students listened with great excitement, eagerly answered questions, shared their thoughts, and interacted enthusiastically throughout the session. Their curiosity, smiles, and active participation made the storytelling experience truly memorable.The session beautifully highlighted the values of friendship, kindness, courage, and wildlife conservation, encouraging every child to love and protect nature. Every story plants a seed of imagination. Every child leaves with a lesson for life.

Santhanam Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli, has been honoured with the prestigious EduIcons Award, recognising Vision, Innovation and Impact in the field of education in a grand event held in Chennai, today (29.07.2026).

The award was presented to the institution’s Chief Executive Officer, Shri K. Chandrasekharan, and Director, Smt. S. Aparna, in recognition of their outstanding leadership, excellence, and significant contributions to the field of education.

The honour was conferred by the Honourable Minister for School Education Thiru Rajmohan at a grand awards ceremony held in Chennai on July 29, 2026.

Under the visionary leadership of Shri K. Chandrasekharan and the dedicated guidance of Smt. S. Aparna, Santhanam Vidhyalaya has established itself as one of the leading educational institutions, consistently setting benchmarks in quality education.

The staff, students, parents, and alumni of Santhanam Vidhyalaya expressed immense pride and joy over this remarkable achievement, which further reinforces the institution’s commitment to shaping future-ready, responsible citizens through excellence in education.

Santhanam vidhyalaya students joyfully celebrated Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to honouring our teachers and seeking divine wisdom. Our students beautifully recited the sacred Sri Hari Stotram and Thodakashtakam, filling the campus with devotion, peace, and positivity. With folded hands and grateful hearts, our children sought the blessings of God and the guidance of their Gurus, embracing the timeless values of respect, discipline, humility, and lifelong learning. “Where there is a Guru, there is wisdom. Where there is devotion, there is divine grace.”

A Tribute That Reaches the Sky Today, Santhanam Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School (CBSE), Trichy, proudly commemorated the Memorial Day of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam with a spectacular rocket formation created by our students. The rocket symbolises the remarkable journey of India’s Missile Man—a visionary who taught us that dreams, when powered by determination and knowledge, can soar beyond the skies. As our students stood together to create this meaningful formation, they weren’t just honouring a great scientist; they were celebrating a legacy that continues to inspire every young mind to dream, innovate, and serve the nation. “Great dreams inspire great achievements. Today, we salute the man who taught India to dream beyond the horizon.”

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026 -‘27 was held with great pride and enthusiasm, marking the formal appointment of the newly elected Student Council, including the School Pupil Leader, House Captains of Agni, Bhoomi, Varuna, Vaayu, and Akaash and leaders of various clubs.

The Chief Guest Dr. C. Sylendra Babu, IPS (Retd.,), Former DGP/ Head of Police Force, awarded portfolios to the elected representatives and the Principal administered the oath. Dr Sylendra Babu, inspired the students with his powerful speech on leadership and about great leaders,motivating them to lead with responsibility and dedication. The School Pupil Leader delivered the maiden speech, expressing gratitude and commitment to serving the school. 

The programme concluded with the National anthem ending the ceremony on a proud and inspiring note.

The “Tales and Talks” session, organized by our institution, was much more than a storytelling event. Renowned storyteller Ms. Jeeva Raghunath captivated the audience with her exceptional voice modulation, expressive body language, and engaging storytelling techniques. Through drama, lively narration, and interactive role-play, she brought each story vividly to life.

The session beautifully highlighted how stories can entertain, inspire, and instill important values. Stories such as “Karadi Tale” and “The Rabbit and the Hunter” fascinated the children, encouraging them to step into the characters’ shoes and explore different perspectives with imagination and empathy.

An exclusive storytelling workshop was also conducted for staff and parents, where Ms. Jeeva Raghunath shared practical storytelling techniques and demonstrated how stories can be used as powerful tools to nurture creativity, communication, and emotional development in children.

Our institution proudly organized a book Introduction Programme featuring Lightning Kid, written by Grand Master Viswanathan Anand. The book, with its 64 winning lessons inspires young readers to develop critical thinking, patience, confidence, and perseverance through the game of chess. 

Students presented a creative chess formation, forming a giant chessboard and chess pieces to honour and appreciate the author’s remarkable achievements. 

A Fireside Chat with the champion was also organized which provided an inspiring opportunity for participants to hear first-hand about excellence, leadership, resilience, and lifelong learning. 

The session was effectively moderated by the institution’s CEO Shri K Chandrasekharan, who guided the discussion with thoughtful questions related to Grand Master’s achievements, his life, personal growth, career and future of chess.

The programme motivated everyone to embrace great principles in their academic, professional and personal journeys.

We were deeply honoured to welcome Shri. N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Chairman of Tata Communications, to our campus for an insightful and inspiring interaction. His visit marked a memorable occasion as he engaged with our school leadership in a meaningful discussion on futuristic learning, institutional growth, and the advancement of science and technology in education. His interaction with our students was truly enriching, as he shared valuable guidance, motivating them to strengthen their knowledge, think innovatively, and prepare themselves for the future with confidence and curiosity.

During his visit, he explored our Robotics Lab, Montessori learning spaces, sports facilities, and the vibrant environment of our school, appreciating the initiatives taken towards holistic development. The discussion also beautifully connected tradition, trade, and technology, reminding us of the importance of balancing cultural roots with modern innovation. This visit stands as a milestone in our journey towards excellence, inspiring every learner and educator to dream bigger, learn deeper, and grow stronger.

International Yoga Day Celebration at Santhanam Vidhyalaya.

Our school proudly celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and energy. They showcased the true spirit of yoga through disciplined performances and a beautiful Padmasana formation, symbolizing peace, balance, and mindfulness. The event highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner harmony. We are proud of our students for their dedication, coordination, and commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.

To honour and pay our humble tribute to the great visionary Vidya Seva Ratnam Shri K. Santhanam, a Memorial Lecture was organised at SanthanamVidhyalaya, on the theme “The Build Mindset.” The session was delivered by Prof. Satyanarayanan Seshadri, Professor Department of Applied Mechanics ,Head School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Indian Institute of Technology Madras ( IITM).

In his inspiring address, he urged the present generation to evolve into a civilization of builders rather than mere consumers. He emphasized the importance of engaging deeply with problems instead of rushing to answers, and encouraged students to focus on creating instead of importing.

This session precisely highlighted the need for a proactive, innovative mindset to shape a self-reliant society.
